John Cahill

John started his medical career in research in the discipline of immunology. During his time with the prestigious Kolling Institute of Medical Research he produced a number of publications at the forefront of Immune System Regulation.

John went on to apply his healthcare learnings from investigative research into both sales and marketing, with leading healthcare companies such as Revlon’s Technicon in pathology and instrumentation and Merck Sharpe and Dohme Pharmaceuticals.

John was a founding partner of CWFS Advertising – Australia and New Zealand’s leading healthcare communications company. In 1996, CWFS was acquired by McCann Worldgroup to become McCann Healthcare, the largest global healthcare communications agency in consumer healthcare, pharmaceuticals, public health, nutrition and wellness.

In 1996, John moved to China to further grow the healthcare discipline and in 1998 was made Asia-Pacific Director – responsible for the markets of China, India, Oceania and S.E Asia.

Since then, John has focused on creating a substantial network of 12 offices across 9 key markets in APAC, each one demonstrating best-in-class solutions for the networks’ healthcare clients. Under John’s leadership, McCann Healthcare was awarded the coveted Media: Specialist Agency of the Year Award 2008.

In 2010, John became Global CEO of McCann Healthcare Worldwide. Since then he has taken McCann Healthcare Worldwide from being a strong network of agencies to an agency that connects like no other. This connectivity makes the agency stand apart from its peers in delivering global business solutions to clients.
