Amar’s 15-plus years’ experience spans across the healthcare communications spectrum, including marketing management in the pharmaceutical industry and mainstream advertising businesses.

Having set up McCann Healthcare India in 2000 into a two-office, 60-staff agency, Amar moved to China in 2004 as the Managing Director of Greater China. He turned around an agency running at a loss into one with renowned reputation, size, recognition and trust.

In early 2009, Amar was tasked with the responsibility of managing Japan and APAC based out of Tokyo. He successfully led the Regional team three years running – 2008, 2009 and 2010 – to win the prestigious Asia-Pacific “Specialist Agency of the Year” Award instituted by Campaign Asia magazine (formerly, Media magazine) – and also “Specialist Office of the Year” in 2010 for Tokyo, Sydney and Shanghai.

Amar – one of two senior executives from McCann Healthcare to be nominated for the IPG Leaders Forum in 2010 – has a Bachelors in Pharmacy, an MBA in Marketing & Advertising and has completed Executive Management Program at the Kellogg School. He is also visiting Faculty at prestigious business schools like the IIM and regularly speaks at industry forums across APAC.
